Petals On My Skin

M.H. John

I wrote this poem very recently after diving back into Lana Del Rey’s album, “Ultraviolence” for a case study analysis for school. This poem explores the painful paradox and physicality of love. It delves into the emotional and physical scars left by someone, using the metaphor of blue hydrangea marks to symbolize the bruises of love.
